I adore coffee. In fact, I haven’t had a day without it in what seems like years. Hmmm, actually putting that in writing is making me think I should probably add that to my bucket list at some point…
Anyway, all this to say even this caffeine addict sometimes needs a change. In fact, if I actually stop and ask my body what it wants to drink by the time 4pm rolls around, it will probably crave something a little more soothing than a cuppa joe. But I don’t do herbal teas unless I’m about to go to bed, and like to have a hot drink in the afternoon, so juice won’t do it either. However, a golden spice latte usually does hit the spot. It tastes like a treat, is filled with fragrant anti-inflammatory spices and it puts me in a good mood. There are endless variations you can make of it but here’s mine.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup filtered water or favorite milk or plant milk
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder or a 1 cm piece of peeled fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp cashew butter (omit if you are using milk)
- 1 or 2 tsp raw honey
Instructions
Place all ingredients in a blender and blitz for 30 seconds or until smooth and creamy. Pour in a sauce pan and heat for a minute or until it reaches your desired drinking temperature. Serve in a big cup.
